Wheat Ridge

Wheat Ridge is located west of Highlands Area, north of Edgewater, and south of Arvada. The city of Wheat Ridge is finding its own unique identity, and striving to create a more neighborhood friendly “Main Street” destination for residents and visitors. Civic leaders have focused on economic development and community events along 38th Ave, attracting more local businesses. “The Ridge at 38th”, is where most of the restaurants, shopping and “Mom n’ Pop” shops are located. Some notable establishments include the top notch Wheat Ridge Cyclery, as well as the Colorado Plus Brew Pub and Right Coast Pizza. 

Another great neighborhood gem is the West 29th Restaurant, which will often have live jazz music on it’s outdoor patio during summer evenings. Many residents of Wheat Ridge love taking a stroll around Crown Hill Lake Park which has amazing views of the mountains and can stay warm even in the middle of the winter, offering a great place for convenient exercise year round. 

 Wheat Ridge is similar to Lakewood in that it’s neighborhoods range from duplexes with rooftop decks, to newly restored 100 year old bungalows. Wheat Ridge boasts larger lots than you’ll find in urban neighborhoods closer to the city. You can find much charm and pride in ownership along it’s friendly streets with affordable homes. A short drive will take you to the supermarkets, brewpubs and shopping found primarily along 38th and 44th Ave.

As with Arvada or Lakewood, you’ll also have great access to the Foothills west of Denver, as well as Golden. Having a short commute to downtown Denver is another bonus. No wonder Wheat Ridge is such a popular place to live.
