OVERALL FEEL

Small Mountain Town With Some Remote Properties

Morrison

Ahhh, Morrison, Colorado. When many people think of living in Colorado, they often think of small towns like Morrison, tucked into the mountains with Bear Creek rolling by a cluster of cute restaurants and shops. The quaint downtown area attracts a variety of visitors, including road bikers, motorcyclists and tourists that are seeking that small town feel. Only a stone’s throw from Red Rocks Amphitheater, one of the premier outdoor concert venues in the country, Morrison’s restaurants and main street are busting before a show. Whether grabbing a home made country style meal at the Cow Eatery, a fabulous Mexican dish at Beso De Arte, or a romantic dinner for two at Cafe Prague, there are many dining options in Morrison.

While the main street area is action packed, outdoor lovers have quick access to Bear Creek State Park, Mount Falcon, and Mathews Winter for hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing and other water activities.

This mix of quaint downtown, mountain views and multiple outdoor options makes Morrison a very sought after location for many homebuyers. There are however, limited residential properties in the downtown area, resulting in fewer listings hitting the market, and tend to have a higher price per square foot for this reason. But don’t get discouraged, as outside of downtown, there are many diverse and unique housing options that may be overlooked by some homebuyers that aren’t familiar with this part of Denver. Nearby are the neighborhoods of Willowbrook and Willow Springs, home of the Red Rocks Country Club and Golf Course. These homes are tucked in among natural rock formations and foothills, with some offering amazing views of Denver’s skyline. For those looking for more remote mountain living, you’ll find a great variety along Turkey Creek Road, from multi-million dollar gated mountain estates with 360 degree views, to smaller more affordable mountain homes without HOAs or covenants. If this type of living sounds good to you, you’ll want to make sure you work with a Real Estate professional that understands the challenges that buying a mountain home can present, from well and septic to property easements or encroachments. With the proper due diligence, your desire to own a great mountain property in Morrison could become a reality.
