City Park

City Park and City Park West are located just East of Downtown Denver and includes a very large public park, hence “City Park”, home to the Denver Zoo, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. City Park is Denver’s equivalent of New York Central Park, an oasis of hiking trails and lakes so close to the city center. For the surrounding urban neighborhoods, quick and easy access to greenspace, outdoor exercise, picnics and parties, as well as entertainment and regular events or exhibits at Museums, IMAX theatre and the Zoo, make for an exciting and convenient place to live. City Park also hosts the City Park Jazz series of 10 free concerts each year, which is a great way to spend a hot summer weekend day.

Most residents of City Park can easily commute to downtown or the Park via foot, scooter, bike or other public transport, earning this part of town a high walkability score. On the flip side, parking spaces can be at a premium, so owning two large vehicles and needing a lot of extra storage can be a challenge when considering properties. City Park is unique in that there are still single family homes, and larger townhome options that have a “friendly neighborhood feel” versus urban high rise living found downtown. So if you want all the benefits of Urban living, but still want to be a bike ride away from the faster paced living, City Park could be a great community for you.

South of City Park is East Colfax Ave, where you’ll find a variety of ethnic restaurants, hole in the wall dive bars, and some of the best music venues in Denver. The more popular favorites for seeing live music are the Bluebird, Fillmore and Ogden Theatre. Imagine renting a scooter to go out for a unique dining experience at one of the many Ethiopian Restaurants on East Colfax, catching a great show at the Ogden, then riding back to your sanctuary 5-10 minutes away in a cute neighborhood.
